Don’t Miss It! Singing in the Dark: An Exploration of Creativity & Madness

I had the pleasure of seeing Irish singer SUSAN MCKEOWN performing in her show “Singing in the Dark–An Exploration of Creativity and Madness” at Symphony Space in New York City recently. In the show, Grammy Award winner McKeown performed songs from her new, seventh album by the same name; many of the songs were poems set to music that she composed. This was an exceptional evening!  Not only are her voice and delivery beautiful but the selection of songs and compositions were gorgeous. An interlude presented a fascinating conversation with McKeown, Kay Redfield Jamison (celebrated author of  Touched with Fire), and Paul Holdengräber of the New York Public Library. McKeown is taking the show to Baltimore this Thursday, November 18th, when she’ll perform in Hurd Hall at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Tea is at 5 pm, performance at 5:30 pm.
